On tap as part of a flight at the brewery. Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, thin cap of beige head with light lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate/fudge and malt. Taste is strong cacao/chocolate, roasted malt, hint of dark fruit. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth texture, average to lively carbonation, late moderate pepper heat and finish as taste. Overall, a really good example of the style without excessive heat but enough to let you know it’s there.
