Taster pour on tap at the brewery. Appearance is clear, very dark brown--like cola--with no discernible sparkle, thin, foamy beige head with excellent retention and light, soapy lacing. Aroma is strongly earthy and roasted malts. Taste is as aroma with light tartness. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a good representative of the style and good flavor for ABV, though I prefer a sweeter stout.

16 oz can poured into a willi becher. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of coffee, roast. Tastes of coffee, roast, cocoa, dark chocolate. Medium body with a dry finish.
