Saison Noire offers a twist on our traditional Belgian farmhouse ale.
Its selection of European aromatic malts, wheat, and oats are augmented by German CaraFa, a specialty dark malt offering color and soft raisiny caramel flavors with none of the roasty or bitter flavor of traditional roasted barley. Hopped with German Hallertauer and dry-hopped with Tettnanger, this black saison exhibits considerable herbal and spicy character. Our judicious use of spices in the kettle and our proprietary Belgian yeast combine to contribute flavors of orange blossom, coriander, cumin, black pepper, and ginger, blending beautifully with the medium-bodied, slightly sweet malt character.
