Catraio, one of the most iconic Portuguese craft beer venues, is turning 8 and we are proud to be part of their birthday collaboration series once again. This year we decided to gift something special, a different iteration of our Imperial Stout. As some of you might know, Daniel (Ophiussa) and Ricardo (Catraio) are huge fans of peated whisky and to harness the beasts, we used a barrel of Islay peated whisky and let it shine. Drier and a bit more boozy than our usual Imperial Stout, this beer has aged for 12 months in the barrel and then conditioned in tonka beans from Brazil, cacao nibs from Ghana and vanilla beans from Madagascar for some extra complexity. This is a beer for the true peated whisky lovers and not for the faint of heart. Happy birthday Catraio!

Bottle shared. Black,small head. Tonka, earthy, peat, dusty, smoke, raw cocoa, vanilla. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. Very weird, chemical and disgusting.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, biscuity, peaty, plasters, taste is similar, tonka spice, dry finish.
