For our latest collaboration with our friends at New Image Brewing in Colorado, we took a deep dive into New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. It started when Freestyle Hops released a special blend of called "Nelson Bliss", which combined early and late harvest Nelson with the goal of "capturing as much of the tropical intensity of Nelson Sauvin as possible without losing the brighter citrus and wine-y notes from earlier harvested Nelson." From there, we added Nelson T90, Nelson Cryo, and Nelson Hop Kief to take the huge tropical sweetness as far as we can go.

This 16 oz can was found at Mr. T's, the local beer shop. I have it chilled and ready to pour inside of my Austin Beer Garden Brewery (ABGB) tulip glass. The view is a hazy light gold in color followed by a steady cover of icy white foam. I also see a persistent carbonation working its way to the top. The nose has a light floral effect with some hops showing up too. And the drink is not bad, actually pretty decent. Citrus in equal amounts with hops, a touch of juice, white bread, slightly sweet, something vinous and more bitterness than I expected. Not a go-to beer but I am appreciating this one.

Pours murky light gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to pool surface. Mango, passion fruit and apricot aromas. Medium bodied with sweet white grape, apricot and white smarties upfront turning to hot resin and pith in the dry, medium length finish.
