Draught. Murky brown with a full head. Aroma of raspberry malt. Flavour is sweet red malt, chocolate notes, bitter fruits on a dry red ale finish.

Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford - as Bru Red Ale Pours a red-orange with a small white head. Has an aroma dominated by corn and malts, but with some orange there as well. In the mouth the texture is creamy and watery with taste of oranges, grain and just a hint of ginger. Rounded off with a bitter finish. Pleasant but not wildly exciting.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear reddish copper coloured pour with a lasting speckled beige head. Aroma is nutty, twiggy malts, light tang, dusty leather bound books. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rustic nutty, blackened sugars, twigs, firm bitterness. Palate is semi sweet, decent cask condition, rounded. Not bad.
