Our annual brew of Día De Los Muertos has had a bit of a hiatus, but we finally found space in production to brew one of our favourite stouts. This years batch we experimented with varying amounts of chilli and believe we have found the perfect balance.

Our Mexican hot chocolate stout has aromas of chocolate, caramel and vanilla, balanced by a light roasted character from the dark malts, and spice and heat from brewing with Ancho Grande chillies.

Keg draught at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester . Mid- to dark brown, alittle translucent with an uneven little khaki head. Lots of dark chocolate in the aroma with a little touch of chilli. The taste is sweet and spicy, overrun with chilli just the right amount of heat. It is lovely but dominates the profile completely. Medium body with carbonation on the heavy side. It's lacking complexity but a chilli head like me doesn't mind all that much. Worth a try for sure.

Can. Black beer with a tan head. Chocolate and light spice aroma. Big chili spice and chocolate flavor with light caramel and light vanilla. Medium bodied. Big spice and chocolate linger with light caramel. Big chili bite stays with you.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Roast, chocolate, a bit of vanilla, vegetal chili notes, nuts, sweetish, bitter finish.

Can at home. Pours black, nose is vanilla chocolate, liquorice, taste is sweet toffee, chocolate, roasted, light spice, dusty.
