The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

At Eurhop festival in Rome-Italy. Pours the closest to deep black, dark ivory minimal foam who stays there with bubbles. Nose: massive attack of coffee, toasted malt. Mouth: dark chocolate, coffee, with a round sweet final. Simply great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle brought back from my Denver trip. Black oily pour with corse tan/mocha head. Slowly recedes to a thin skin. Coffee and licorice on the nose some alcohol fumes and dark raisins. Sharp charcoal rostiness, with some graham cracker and carmel malts. Quite a few IBUs and this I think would fade nicely in the cellar for several months. Perfectly attenuated with enough residual sugars for a nice palate, but dry enough to keep from hiding the hop bite at the end. very nice.

Bottle. Dark black body with a dense khaki head. Aromas of burnt and roasted malt. Charcoal, peat, a little vanilla and some chocolate. Flavor is lovely. Lots of charcoal harshness that balances nicely against dark fruit and cream with a thread of chocolate that sews everything together before a biting peat finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and ABV is warming. Lovely.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Thick with dark chocolate and salty caramel upfront turning to bitter earth, resin and espresso in the lasting finish.

Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, burnt caramel, toffee, licorice, dark sugar, espresso, roasted grain, chocolate, hops. Taste is slightly sour-ish dark roasted, burnt coffee, burnt caramel, hops, dark malts, ashtray, raw licorice, sour coffee, roasted grain, dark sugar, grass. Longlasting bitterness, dry roasted mouthfeel. Nice, but also too burnt / roasted.

Smak och doft av choklad, malt, kaffe, vanilj och rostade toner. Hämning fin. Krämig med fin syrlighet, välbalanserad. Avrundas med en bitterchokladbeska. Fina smaker o riktigt fin i gommen.
