16 oz. can into a stein. Pours a clear, orange-brown color, with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is brown bread, orange zest, cardamom, pecan, and pumpernickel. Sweet and malty, with a light, herbal bitterness. Light to medium body, sticky, and dusty. Solid and enjoyable.

Pint at the brewery - medium orange pour - nose is dark bread, rich Munich maltiness, maybe a touch of toasty Vienna?, toffee, mild spiciness - creamy texture - smooth, clean, rich malt texture and flavor (but just the faintest hint of malt huskiness on certain sips) - moderate spiciness through the middle that lingers to the finish - lingering caramelized sugars through the finish - just a faint flaw in the execution, but still cleaner and more authentic than a lot of American examples - a solid o-fest - between this and the Maibock, they’ve proven they can make a solid strong lager - now if only the dortmunder were as good.
