Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, beige head. The nose is coffee, birch, cinnamon, wet grass, and earth. A surprising, lovely coconut aftertaste. Sweet and malty, with a sticky, funky bitterness. Medium to heavy body, syrupy, and dusty. Interesting and pretty tasty.

Sample at the taproom. Dark brown color with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lace. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, mild coffee and sweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a lingering malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
