12 oz. can. Pours an unclear, brown color, with a dense, fine, tan head. The nose is brown bread, cardamom, dates, light licorice, lemon zest, and bitter pecans. Sweet and heavily malty, with a touch of bitterness. Medium body, frothy, and clean. Bold, yeasty, and well made.

Can - dark amber pour - nose is dark fruit, dark bread, raisin, a touch of spiciness - I always appreciate it when a brewery attempts this style, so I have to give them credit for even trying - starts out promising, with some light tartness, light fruity esters, and a bit of peppery spice - at that point the malt takes over and any Belgian resemblance kinda fades - malts are rich, bready, nutty, and medium-dry, though, which is pleasant - would like to see the Belgian character persist throughout, as it ends tasting like a brown ale.
