Bottle 500ml. @ home. [ As Hogs Back Advent Ale ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, wood - tobacco, light chocolate and roasted, light plum and date. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel - chocolate, dark malt, malty, spicy notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150420]

Bottle @ home shared by joes. Cola colour with a very small off-white head. Smells herbs, spices, molasses, sweet, dark malts. Tastes roasty, spices, herbs, gingerbread, haagse hopjes. A true christmas brew. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark mahogany colour, light ruby red glimmer, with small, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Fruity, malty aroma, notes of red fruit, i.e. red berries, cherries, bramble. Taste is minimally sweet malty, a touch of dark bread, cautious hop bitterness, disguised fruitiness (red fruit); super soft palate. Simple, easy to drink, very nice.

Cask (backlog). Deep ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, some liquorice as well as mild toated notes. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, some mild ripe fruits along with caramel and some slight wooden notes. Mellow and nice.
