Pint at the brewery. Pours black, with a big, foamy, tan head. The nose is chicory, light maple smoke, caramelized sugar, and pine sap. Almost dry and malty, with a mild, biting bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a syrupy, astringent palate. This is an enjoyable, biting, and well made porter.
