On tap at the Carter Payne. Pours black, with a big, frothy, khaki head. The aroma is mocha, earth, cassia bark, and walnuts. Malty and fairly dry, with a roasty bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a malty, powdery mouthfeel. This is a quality, malty brown ale, with a nice, subtle treatment.
