Taster at the Carter Payne. Black, with a fleeting head. The nose is a nice, dry, red wine, dark cocoa, raspberry, leather, and cinnamon. Fairly dry and malty flavor. Heavy body, with a syrupy, astringent palate. This is an interesting and very wine-forward stout. Quality and interesting.
