Smell of tar. Black with brown head. Aroma of ash, roasted malt, some tar. Bitter. Ashy palate, very soft but rich carbon. Suomenlinna usually is mid-range, but this one is great.

Draught @ SOPP Helsinki 2012, Finland.Dark black brown colour with a beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee, cold coffee, sweet thin roasted malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, sewer, roasted, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120726]

Draught@SOPP Helsinki 2012. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, mild ashes, some dark berries as well as mild ripe fruityness. Flavour is bigtime ashes, smoked wet wood, some toffee as well as some wood and mild liquorice.

Aroma is floury and a bit light with roasted notes and hints of vegetables. Flavour is slightly sour has well roasted malt, licorice, some hops, cocoa and hints of vegetables. Smooth palate. Feels slightly watery. Decent.

Draught at SOPP, Helsinki. Black, minimal head. Aroma of bacon, red apples and molasses. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Plastic, sweet licorice and butter. Buttery finish with some bitterness. Not a favourite.

Draught @ SOPP 2012.07.28. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma was roasted malt, mild coffee. Flavor very similar, roasted malt, coffee, especially in the finish. Dry, tasty stout.

(Draught at SOPP’12) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had hops, roasted malts and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, hops, liquorice, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, burnt and bitter. A tasty hoppy stout with a bit too thin body.

Pours pitch black with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, hops, and ash. Taste is roasted, almost burnt with some grassy hops and hints of coffee. Finish is roasty and light bodied. Decent, a bit unbalanced stout.

Dark opaque black color, steady creamy brown head, lace. Aroma of wet ash tray, even some farmhouse. Light bodied. A bit sour, ashy and burnt flavor. Light milky note in the finish. Too burnt-ashy for my liking. English-style stout.
