Bottled@chriso. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is mild toast, some sweet malts, fruits and some slight spicyness. Flavour is bitter fruits, wood and some slight herbal and grassy notes.

Bottle at home ... copper ... thin bubbly off white head ... soft toffee fruits nose ... sweet metalic roast ... thin malts ... long light bitter linger .

Feb 2010: known as Red Rock Traditional Bitter back then! 500ml brown bottle, the beer is bottle conditioned so it was poured slowly and carefully into my vase shaped pint glass (Old Speckled Hen badged). The beer had a slight haze to its appearance, even though I thought Iād managed to keep all of the sediment in the bottle. The beer was a lovelly copper colour, a fine foaming off-white head sat on top. The head left some heavy lacing as the beer sank in the glass, I like to see that, shows good conditioning in my opinion. Hops aromas hit the nose and they certainly give the beer a typical English Bitter flavour, meaning a bitterness to the ale. Original review text: Hand-pulled pint in Barnstable at the Watergate, a Wetherspoon pub; 9th August 2022. Nice clean and clear amber body, off-white top. Bog standard Cooking Bitter with an easy drinking blend of semi-sweet malts and semi-bittering hops. Twiggy, not citrussy or piney in any way. I suspect it's a re-named beer because this brewery seem to have a few 4.2% Bitters in their portfolio.

Cask-conditoned at the Imperial (JDW), Exeter 25/07/09. Pale amber with a slight white head. Aroma of summer fruit, citrus and a touch of floral hops. Flavour of biscuit malts, with more fruit and a dry finish. Good, easy drinking.

bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy copper-brown colour with a red glow. Fruity nose. Malty with hints of caramel, fruit (lemon, banana, raisin). Short and light finish with some sharp and dry hhoppy notes.
