Gravity cask at the Cambridge Beer Festival 2016. Barely black with a loose off-white head. Scent of liquorice, coffee and crystal malt. Taste. My God. Liquorice, liquorice, liquorice and liquorice. Sweet like liquorice allsorts with a salty Finnish liquorice note. The finish is bitter, hoppy and intense with a final salty umami note. One helluva journey for Berkshire’s other craft brewery.

Appearance: Opaque black color with a nice lasting tan head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Good intensity with grapefruit hopps, chocolate, coffee and some tropical notes.
Palate: Medium + body. A bit sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Some weird harse notes in the flavor. Grapefruit hoppy, pine, chocolate, coffee, some roasted malt and tropical on a deep malty back.
Overall impression: The harse notes in the flavor destroyed this one a bit.
Personal stats: Bottle from www.myBrewerytap.com in Leatherhead, England
