In 2011, Finch the first-ever incarnation of this project. A 6.5% hoppy red ale: nutty, chocolatey, caramel and vanilla body with a fruity and floral flourish from the Chinook and Amarillo hops which lead to a dry, go-back-for-more finish.

Old Bottle shared with Erzengel! A almost clear dark amber beer with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Aroma of raspberries, strong red fruits, soft tart fruits. Taste of riped raspberries, tart berries, grapes, high carbonation.

Old bottle from my cellar. Dry red malty beginning. High in carbonation, refreshing with a deep malty and moderate bitter aftertaste. Sessionable.

Two tank sample 33cl bottles - thanks to Steven and Lewis. Pours a slightly murky brown with a thin layer of lace. The nose has earthiness (forest floor after rain), spice and nuts. The taste is more nuts, earthiness, root vegetables (somewhere between beetroot and parsnip) and just a hint of creamy coffee. The palate is medium to full bodied (bigger than normal ale), with a lovely thick texture and a lean drying finish which seems to not be too sweet or too bitter - very good. Overall, a really balanced and interesting beer. There’s a hint of a Scotch Ale with maybe a British Red Ale thrown in. MUST RE-RATE WHEN FINAL BOTTLES OR DRAUGHT IS AVAILABLE.
