Malty, floral, bready
For this Brewer's Batch, we wanted to brew an Historical Civil War Era beer. A true American original style, Kentucky Common was almost exclusively produced and sold in Kentucky. Although "common" is in the name, this is a very difficult style to find locally. This style should be light-flavored, malt accented beer with a dry finish. Made with 6-row, Corn and a love tap of Crystal Rye, this is our take on this American Classic.
When Kentucky Bourbon distillers had left over malts, they would use leftovers to make beer for themselves. This style can sometimes be called an Amber Cream Ale.
Cheers!
Appearance: Deep tan-brown, slightly chill hazy, white head Aroma: Bready with a touch of corn sweetness, subtle caramel
