Alex’s Life is a special blend made in honor of our pal Alex Kidd (@dontdrinkbeers). Alex was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer recently and the collaborating brewers put our heads together on how we could make a benefit beer to raise money for Alex and his family. Alex is a huge fan and supporter of the Barleywine style, so we all decided to make a big blend in his honor.
The Veil, Side Project, Other Half, Monkish, Trillium, and Evil Twin NYC all selected our oldest Barleywine aging in various Bourbon barrels from our respective barrel inventories and blended them for a one-of-a-kind offering. Ranging from 10-37 months and clocking in at 15.2%, Alex’s Life is an incredibly complex blend of English-style Barleywines aged in Bourbon barrels. Notes of sticky toffee, sweet dates, plump vanilla beans, clover honey, charred oak, moist tobacco and leather. We hope you can share this amazing blend with friends and family and help us celebrate Alex and our mutually beloved style of Barleywine.

500ml bottle pours out cola brown topped with a ring of a head. Nose is nice sweet caramel toffee malts rich bourbon barrel vanilla some wood and nuts. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts rich bourbon barrel vanilla.

Lordy lordy lordy that's delicious. Thick vanilla toffee galore. So much sweet #bil note on this. I think it was 1pp but man I wish I had two. Hints of dried fruit, so much brown sugar syrup.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a dark brown with no head. The aroma is toffee, bourbon, wood, vanilla. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, boozy, very nice.
