Chestnut Double Barrel-aged Wooden Cleat is our 13.5% blend of the same barleywines that were aged for five months in a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon Barrels before being transferred to a new toasted Chestnut Puncheon to double barrel age for an additional 10 months. After the double barrel it was allowed to cold condition for an extended period. The result is an equally complex beer filled with caramel, and vanilla flavors balanced by sweet toffee notes from the chestnut

250 ml capped and waxed bottle. New Jersey beer rating number 1,500. Purchased from brewery on 07/14/21. Opaque dark brown color. No head. Sweet, roasted malt aroma hints at bourbon and earthy wood. Big, sweet, nutty malt flavor. Notes of caramel, vanilla and oak. Warming alcohol in middle. Sweet and sticky throughout. Toffee and vanilla as well. A real sipper, this one is.

Sexy little bottle pours out dark cola brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet pitfruit rich caramel toffee malts and some chestnut wood i guess. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel toffee malts pitfruit and a rounded out barrel note.
