On tap at edge boise pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. nose is light roast malts some sweet black licorice a nice light smoke note. Taste is more of the sweet black licorice some light roast at some and a touch of ashtray.

Tap @ Edge. Pours a dark brown, near black, topped with a thick finger of creamy brown head. Nose is mostly roast and some lighter sweet notes. Taste is roast and bittersweet, heavy anise in the finish. About halfway through the serving the anise really started to take over, IMO. Too much. Nice body weight; less anise would probably improve my rating by a few points.

On Tap at the Boise BP Black in the small snifter with a coarse lingering spotty brown head and lacing. Fairly sweet dark roast flavors. Plenty of anise. Smooth soft finish.
