Medium, slighlty yellowish head over well-carbonated metallic orange-yellow beer with a faint cold haze. Garden herbs/weeds, spicy. Spiced poppodums, maybe some coriander. Bitterish, aromatic hops catching the attention immediately, completely unlike the nose. There’s still a slight spiciness, especially retronasal, but it is in no way dominant. No trace of coriander left. Dry, thin unlieavened bread with some dried unobtrusive herbs, maybe. Finish has something earthy. Spritzy, light body, prominent CO². Not bad by half. Just the nose giving off some unsettling (maybe onwanted?) preconceptions. Very drinkable, after all.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, Day 1, shared with Ken and Paul. Pours cloudy, yellow-gold with a moderate, white head. Some grain in the nose, mild sugar. Flavor is slightly floral and herbal with some doughy sweetness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild, toasty grain finish, a bit of plain sugar. Nothing too wrong in this one.
