Tap at Amersfoorts Bockbier Festival, 2016: Slightly hazy dark brown colored brew with pretty sweet taste and some burning in the mouth. Hints of dries fruits, liquirice and caramel. Gulpener is well busy in the brewing of different beer styles, no other commercial brewery can or will do so in the Netherlands.

Bottled (from de Biertonne). Copper colour with a minor beige head. Aroma is ripe fruits, alcohol, some toffee and mild fruity tones with some syrupy tones. Flavour is somewhat hoppy floral tones with dried fruits, some alcohol, and overly sweet.

On tap at Arendsnest. Ruby red unfiltered body. Huge steady beige head. Sublime, really smooths out and strengthens the malt tones. Luscious, really well done stuff. Sweet, brown sugar, but all malt. Lots of bock lager tones too. Nailed it.

Bottled 330ml (vintage 2021, AIH147)
Dark brown-ruby colour, small brownish head. Toasted, a bit medicinal nose. Medium-bodied. Dark bread, some sticky sweetness, alcohol, maybe a bit medicinal flavour too. Somewhat rough and simple.

Bottle picked up from the brewery shop and consumed at home Friday 29th October 2021, we had homemade Lasagna accompanied with a Greek Salad, listening to Gomez - Bring it On. Pours dark brown with an off white head. Caramel and chocolate on the nose with a little fruity bite. Quite chewy and substantial, warming, caramel again, some toffee, good but not as good as hoped.

Diep roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is zoet, warm en krachtg met iets van rozijnen, anijs, wat lichte rook en pruimen. Erg goed bier.
