Thuis uit een flesje. Roodbruin van kleur, matig schuim. Redelijk zoet aroma, smaak idem, goede nasmaak. Het hoge abv proef je niet direct, maar pas op hé...Goed, maar niet super.

Solid and powerful beer. Maybe not as complex and concentrated as many other in this style.
Deep nutty color with a decent head. Fine intensity in the aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. Quite easy to drink. Oily texture. Bready, toffee, dark and dried fruits, some banana and mild vinous flavor. Well masked alcohol.

19 December 2018. At De Gouverneur, Maastricht. Shared with Anke. Pours hazy reddish brown with a lasting, unstable, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of candied plum & banana, caramel, raisin, almond, brioche, cookie dough, vague hint of chicken broth. Taste is medium caramelly sweet, rather fruity too with hints of plum & raisin, almost in a sugary kind of way, bit estery too but banana (or feared bubblegum) remains in the background. A light herbal bitter middle brings note of tea and spicy cookie & cinnamon, touch of almond too, but the upcoming alcohol warmth renders it faintly medicinal & phenolic. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, phenolic alright, lingering candied fruit & caramel, good dash of warming herbal liqueur alcohol, not wry but still very apparent, giving a it a vague cough syrup-like character. Medium body, thin syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Not that bad, lacks some elegance but it's a tasty enough sipper.

Sampled draft @ In De Wildeman. Dark ruby amber, tanned head. Nose is herbal very malt cloying cough syrup with a strong BE profile. Taste is cloying medicinal candy, cough syrup, sugar, BE dark fruit, sugar, herbal syrup, strangely boozy given that the ABV is not that high, cloying, sugar, very thick, would rate it higher if it was easier to drink, strangely less drinkable than it should be.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Looks good in the glass, very zippy, huge head. Dry malty aroma. Starts dry malty, earthy, light roasty. Alcohol is well hidden. More and more moldy-malty. Average.

Very dark brown colour. Aroma has lots of sweet raisins. Flavour is similarly sweet. Loads of dried red fruits. Slight warmth of alcohol. Very smooth. Bit too sweet.
