Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head and strings of lace. Aroma of roasted malt. Light body with flavors of caramel, sweet malt and a touch of hops. The finish is short and malty. Just average overall.

Deep coppery red body with a tall, long lasting, off-white head. The aroma is fruit and light molasses. The flavor follows the aroma with the addition of some hop bitterness that adds to the malt sweetness and then becomes dominant in the finish.

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is piney and earthy hops, caramel, bread, and some spices and black pepper. Tastes sweet up front, with a strong bitterness in the middle and finish. The palate is medium, acidic and sticky. Overall, a tasty beer, more akin to an IPA.
