A style of beer that we absolutely love to brew: magnifying and complementing a single delicious hop varietal with a bold, flavourful grain that can really hold its own. Here we’ve used Simcoe hops for complex notes of berry, apricot and sticky pine, all partnered by the nutty, gently spicy flavours of malted rye. Rounded, full-flavoured, and definitely a touch autumnal.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Mellow malty, slightly citrusy fruity aroma, hints of orange and mandarine, a touch of toffee, weak hints of rye spiciness. Taste is slightly dry, citrusy hoppy, a touch of orange and mandarine, bitter zesty hints of mandarine, mandarine kernels, minimally sweet and spicy malty background, with hints of toffee, caramel and a cautious nutty touch.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - cloudy golden amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - orange starburst. Then big banana note. Taste - banana again. Tangy orange/lime finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - I did not expect these aromas and flavours from this style. Thought it was a dunkelweizen.
