Sampled from tap at Borefts 2016. Clear, deep red to black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, vanilla, raisins, prunes and some oak. Very sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of caramel, raisins, prunes, vanilla and oak, followed by a long, moderately bitter, quite warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Thank you for sharing BE RB Crew! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. Day 1. Black, no head unlike #8. Nose is warming umami, syrupy molasses, thick boozy, too umami. Taste is thick boozy umami, syrupy, overly thick, syrupy molasses, boozy, warming, overly umami. Body is thick molasses syrupy. Licorice, low varnish, thick molasses. Too umami, varnish, molasses & far too simple for me, where is the bourbon goodness?

Quite nice. Boozy and dry barley wine with not much hoppyness. Barrel adds nicely, some spicy bourbon flavors.

23/IX/16 - on tap @ Borefts Bier Festival - BB: n/a (2016-1084) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!

Clear dark brown beer, practically no head, little adhesive. Aroma: bourbon baby! Aggressive alcohol notes, sweet caramel, dried fruits, chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of bourbon, too much alcohol, roasted, lots of vanilla, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: hoppy finish, alcohol, bitter, roasted, more alcohol, too much to be good.

Tap. Dark brown color with tan head and a ruby highlight. Aroma is oak sugar, booze, vanilla, caramel. Taste is more oak sugar, very sweet, then it becomes very boozy and phenolic. Too boozy for me, but the aroma is great.
