Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear brownish-amber color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Medium body with sweet bready malt and nut flavors, along with some hops. The finish is malty with a lingering roast aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at PP San Clemente. Pours with a hazy brown body and a light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, coffee, caramel and light hops. Taste is coffee, lightly metallic and chocolate. Light mouthfeel and a bit fizzy. To be real honest, this doesn’t taste too dissimilar from the Dawn Patrol Mild.

From tap at San Clemente. Solid roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is hardroasted malt which gives a slight watery finish at first but as the flavours build up the roasted malt gives a steady nice acidic roasted bitterness. Nicely dry and somewhat coffeeish finish.
