As the Danish brewery closest to Sweden, we have always felt a spiritual closeness – bordering on tenderness – towards our many Swedish fans. Our solid Imperial Stout Mr. Frederiksen in particular has enjoyed great popularity beyond.
That is why we did not hesitate long when we received an inquiry from the Swedish kingdom, whether we could make a special Swedish version of Mr. Frederiksen. Through our close – and admittedly slightly suspicious – connections to the Skåne underworld, we managed to conjure up something as rare as a wooden barrel that has held Swedish red wine. Yep, Swedish red wine. We judged that precisely blue-yellow tannins and Amagerkan black beer combined with barrel aging for a whole year could not help but become nothing but a lucky and holy alliance. We hope you will judge that we were right. Enjoy Mr. Frederiksen – Swedish style.

03.08.2016, 0,25l bottle @ home:
Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild sour-ish dry, oak, grass, dark malts, weeds, minerals, redwine, burnt caramel, dark sugar, vanilla. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, weeds, oak, minerals, bark, grass, redwine, sour coffee, hay, chocolate. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.

0.25l bottle from #300 shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a deeper dark brown looking one with a actually decent looking darker beigeish sidesticking and quite lacing head. It has a almost smoked nose. Totally different from the Danish version I just had. Quite smoky with lots of vegetal tones. Green pepper, a decent amount of dark roastiness. Chili fruity and it's definitely woody. It tastes a little better than it smells, but it's still kinda chalky in the taste. Of course, it's a old bottle. It has a good oily texture in the mouth and it's just below average and near creamy in the mouth. Roasted, dark woody. Tannins and a little tobacco. Grows on you. Long lasting roasted tail. 04.08.2016

Bottle. 2012 vintage. Opaque black liquid with minimal tan head. Aroma of chocolate, oak, red berries, red wine, red onion, coffee, licorice and cardboard. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of red wine, chocolate, licorice and oak. Medium bodied to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, but a bit overly red wine aged.

(Bottle) Black colour with dense, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with strong black coffee, liquorice, a touch of tar, oak wood, red wine and a slight red berry acidity. Roasted, malty taste with black coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, oak wood, red fruit and a slight red wine tannin acidity in the finish. Full body, with a smooth and rounded mouthfeel. The wine gives it a slightly sweeter taste than the original. Interesting wine barrel aged version. I prefer the original version, but this was very nice.

Bottle. A dense, tan head of moderate size sits on top of a dark brown to black body. Rather vinous aroma, with lots of chocolate and coffee, roasted malts and molasses hints. More like dried fruits than red wine actually. Surprisingly thin on the palate, I remember Hr Frederiksen to be more full-bodied than this. Some warmth. Lots of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts in the flavor. Lasting finish with some warmth but mostly it’s influenced by the dark malts. Nice indeed, but prefer the regular edition. 130504
