Bottle. Golden-amber beer with a cream colored head. Malt and light floral aroma with light mineral notes. Malt and mineral lingers with caramel and spice. Medium bodied. Malt and caramel lingers with mineral, spice, and light grass.

Bottle (bottled Jan 12, 2011). Pours with a very pretty, lightly hazed vibrant yellow body with a medium sized white head that leaves good lace and has pretty decent retention. Aromas of hay, bread, freshly cut grass, lemon, and a lightly herbal hop note. Clean, no esters. Flavors are bready, toasty and a bit sweet, a good bitterness and a slight lemon character from the hops. Some honey. Really clean, with a good malt complexity. Finishes a bit grainy, and the faintest of hints of DMS. Soft, creamy, light herbal hop notes but the balance leans towards the malt. Clean a bit of high gravity alcohol/lager sweetness. Not quite as crisp as it could be. Still a very tasty beer. Medium, creamy bubbles, a touch warming. Somewhat comparable to Boulevard’s Imperial Pils, and at half the price this is a more attractive buy (although, not entirely the better beer).

Pour is a clear yellow with a big white head. Aroma is some pils malt with some grassy hops and a bit of sweet fruit. Flavor is grain, sugar and a big dollop of alcohol at the end. I wish brewers would just work on the perfect pils instead of imperializing a style that dosen’t need it. OK at best, way to boozy at the end.

Capped 750. Apparently from Malt & Vine. Pours gold with a creamy/bubbly whie head. Lots of herb and floral aroma. Perhaps a touch of spice. Full bodied. A touch bready. Flavor seems mostly mildly fruity, floral and a bit spicey/grassy. Finishes very nicely bitter. Delicious.
