Bottle @ Papsoe tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, bourbon, alcohol, wood, chocolate and hops. I still dont understand destroying beer in bourbon barrels.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a clear brown with a warm reddish hue and a small beige head. Sour, rotten nose with some overripe fruit. Medium body, sweet rotten fruits, tart, perhaps a little bourbony but the infection overpowers most. Very sad. 020212

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown black with a transient beige/tan head. Flavor is bourbon/vanilla/chocolate. Itβs very smooth. Thereβs a slight sour aspect. But it is and finishes bourbon/vanilla/chocolate.

Bomber. Clear, dark brown/almost black liquid with brown edges and small to medium tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, wood, bourbon, butter, ash and light licorice. Lots of butter. Taste is light sweet, light sour, light to medium bitter with notes of bourbon and wood. Unappropriatly sour. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Way to buttery and also weirdly sour. Didnβt really like it.

Bottle thanks to PeteinSD. Pours black with light brown head. Nose/taste of sweet cocoa, vanilla, milk chocolate, light bourbon barrel and lactose sweetness. Barrel aging is mild, but present. Medium body.

How do you spell "infection?" Poured a clear brown, small off-white head. Aroma is sour, touch of sweet malts, chocolates - meh. I kept drinking it but this is certainly not what I think they intended - if I get a chance - will wipe this rating clean and start fresh.

Bottle thanks to JohnnyJ. Pours a clear deep brown with a ruby hue and a brown head that dissipates very slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of butterscotch with backing roasted malts with some sweet chocolate. Flavor begins with butterscotch and transforms in to a sour cherry. Clearly infected.

On tap at Brouwer's for Big Wood, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, light chocolate and molasses. Flavour of molasses, smooth Belgian chocolate, vanilla (from the barrels), and no roast at all. Full-bodied for a porter but still somehow "light" on the palate. Delicious.

Pours up mahogany with dark cherry colored hues and tan head. The aroma has a nice load of dark roasted malts and toffee candy goodness with a bit of earthiness and a faint tartness in the background. The taste has a nice dark roasty maltiness and then quickly gets into red wine tart notes. OK, after a few ounces I only get red wine like tartness. Too much barrel time for my taste maybe.

Bottle thanks to mattolesh. Pours with a deep brown, near black body with a small tan head. Aroma has some very strong diacetyl notes (very strong!), maple, brown sugar, barrel and light chocolate. Flavors of diacetyl, cocoa, barrel, oak and a bit sticky. Pretty smooth with a hint of sourness coming on. Balanced alcohol character, but it seems that this is on the road to infection. Too bad.
