Sampled from the tap at the Milwaukee brewpub. Pours a clear deep brown with a brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has notes of chocolate with roasted malts with a bit of backing dark grain. Flavor starts with sweet chocolate and roasted malts and finishes with dark bread and a bit of chalk.

Bottle. Pours almost black, tan head. Aroma of dark cocoa and pine. Taste is oily, some bitter cocoa, with bitterness near the finish. An odd combination of flavors.

16oz bottle. Deep, opaque brown-black with a massive brown-beige head. Coffee and chocolate are very present in the aroma, but there is also some faint herbal fruitness. Roasty and malt centered, with some mild balancing bitterness that melds with the cocoa tones. Mellow carbonation. Sweet finish, not unlike Anchor OSA. Pretty nice.
