Civil Disobedience, our non-violent protest against the homogenization of flavor, comes in the form of a spontaneous, circumstantial, and unpredictable series of beer releases. We relinquish control in favor of an anarchistic collaboration of microbial activity. This is the expression of our conscience, our opposition to oppression, and an act of creative freedom.
Civil Disobedience (1849), Henry David Thoreau’s moral call to action, is a perennial challenge against the contemporary sopor of individual political conscience... "It is not too soon for honest men to rebel and revolutionize."
Question. Act. Evolve...

Civil Disobedience #1: A blend of two different batches of Arthur and a bit of a beer called ’mimosa’, a saison brewed with orange zest and brett clausenii. All stainless. Not barrel aged.

Bottle, 7%. Mild citric aroma, Brett? Cloudy yellow colour. Good stable creamy white head. The flavour is mildly Bretty, lemony. Has a little astringent/grapefruity bitterness in the finish, but balances the beer off well.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy opaque yellow with a frothy and lacing white head. Subtle Bretty aroma with a little citrus zest. Medium body, very smooth mouthfeel, yeast, fruit and spices. Ends dry with very downplayed hops. Very subtle and easygoing. 180212

Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of lemons, spices, pepper, straw, yeast, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, yeast, malt, pepper, spices, lemons, and malt, leading to a dry and slightly tart finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle, 75cl. A hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a finger-thick, lacings leaving creamy off-white head. The aroma has oranges, pale malts, some sourish hints, spices, a peppery touch, pine cones and resins, a faint farmyard touch and some lemon hints. It’s smooth on the palate, medium bodied. The flavor is equally complex as the aroma, with more emphasis on the oranges. Lasting finish with a nice bitterness, as well as all the flavors found initially. A beauty indeed. 120218

Bottle shared at Woodshop 6. Pours with a very hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aromas of light funk, grassy, grainy, estery. Quite floral and estery with some fruit notes that I can’t exactly tell if they are hop based or yeast based. A hint of cheerio/cereal flavor. Flavors are estery, grassy, floral, grainy and hoppy. Some pineapple notes. Light bubbles, dry. A bit minerally.
