Sin & Remorse is a 4-grain Imperial Stout brewed by Brewery de Molen and Jopen. A multi-grain beer with 38% rye, 24% oats and a touch of wheat. Traditional English Brown Malt tends to add strong coffee and chocolate tones. The result: a beer with full body (De Molen) along with loads of grain (Jopen). A beautiful combination of flavors!

Bottle (from het biermoment). Pours dark brown-black with brown head. The head stays. Aroma is roast. coffee, oats, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, sugar, coffee, malt, metallic notes, lactose. Overall: very good, too bad about metallic notes.

Very nice beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits. Taste is rather dry. Coffee, chocolate and roast. A little bit sourness. Body and carbonation are medium. Alcohol is well hidden. Good imperial stout but little too dry for me.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pitch black color. Big beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: hard roasted malts, ground coffee, hints of fruit. Retronasal there’s roast, malts, sweetness, ground coffee, red fruit/berries. Flavor is moderate sweet, light drop/licorice, light fruity sourness. Rather strong alcohol feel at first. Medium to full bodied, chewy. Long finish with some roast, light bitterness. This is pretty much how an imperial stout is supposed to be imho.

Draught @ De Molen. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized creamy dark brown colored head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma and taste are both malts, brown malts, soft roast, light liquorice, soft malt bitter. Thick oily texture, soft carbonation, full body. Nice thick stout!

21/11/16: Good mouthfeel, smooth, bitter and creamy. Bit sour, some spice, thanks to the rye?

17/2/17: Licorice, chocolate, coffee, boozy. Lovely stout.

15/7/18: Bottled 20SEP2016. Time helped on this one, smoothed out nicely. Less bitter than I remember, mellow, boozy, rich and tasty.

zwart met enorm volle bruine kraag, aroma van koffie, chocolade, vanille, mout, zoet, alcohol, rogge. Smaken van gebrande koffie, chocolade, vanille, zoet, spekjes, geroosterde en gebrande mouten, laurier, zacht, redelijk zoet, zwak bitter, redelijk zoethout, redelijke body, melkchocolade, vanille afdronk, aardig biertje... géén topper.
