Sin & Remorse is a 4-grain Imperial Stout brewed by Brewery de Molen and Jopen. A multi-grain beer with 38% rye, 24% oats and a touch of wheat. Traditional English Brown Malt tends to add strong coffee and chocolate tones. The result: a beer with full body (De Molen) along with loads of grain (Jopen). A beautiful combination of flavors!

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, slight coffee like. Sweet, toasted malty, caramelish. Liqourice. Dark malty. Roasted and lingering dark malty far finish.

Bottle. Dark brown color, creamy foam. Aroma: caramel, butter, nuts, dried fruits, sweet wine. Taste: sweet, caramel, dried fruits, wine, esters, a bit whiskey. Expected more.

small stable creamy mocha head, dark brown color, aroma of mocha, aromatic coffee, and chocoalte, flavor chocolate, coffee and a bit of alcoholic warmth. Nice and mellow, not too complex.

Bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Black with short lasting dark beige head. Lots of roasted malts, light licorice, toffee, bready, light dried dark prunes and blueberries. It’s quite fruity underneath the roast, and surprisingly light on the sweetness. It’s still sweet, but not overpowering and balanced nicely with the roasted bitterness. Just full bodied.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’ place. Thanks David K. for this bottle! Black with a light brown head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, a bit of licorice, a bit of soy sauce. Sweet flavor with chocolate, caramel, roast, coffee, a bit of licorice, a bit of dark fruits, a bit of alcohol. Quite full-bodied. Slightly too boozy, but very good.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Pitch black with a thin tan head. Massive malt aroma with some coffee. Quite sweet taste and a long hopbitter finish. Nice collab of two of the big boys of the Dutch craft beer scene.

Pours thickly to a towering rust-brown head over black beer; lacerings. Roasted, dry-smelling, dry husks, even a bit ashy. Very roasted/burnt flavour. Much sweeter than the dry nose suggested, inforced by the alcohol. Some fusels, it would seem, toffee, chocolate, pralines . Warming up, I get a bit of pineflavour. Very creamy head, very thick, full body, alcoholheat. I’d expected more here - an I.S. from De Molen...

Bottle from het Biermoment, bottle date 20 Sep 2016, large sample. Dark color, medium almost creamy head. Aroma of roast, dark bread, spicy rye, bit licorice. Roasty and dark fruity bitterness, bit salty licorice, slight alcohol. Good.
