Keg at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of anise, dark fruits, caramel. The taste is anise, dark fruits, caramel, mild roasted malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a dark cola color with an off-white head. Aroma was candi notes, esters... interesting. Chewy malts, dark fruit notes, like raisins.

A little too much sugar and sweetness in this without accompanying body. Honey, with some oak and a touch of smoke. Sweet finish. Mahogany pour with ok head and lacing. Tap at brewpub.
