An American twist on a classic Nordic style, our Sahti is brewed with fresh juniper branches foraged from our farmwoods just after the epic snowstorm in late January. This golden-straw colored beer has a big nose of freshly peeled citrus with some whiffs of evergreen from the juniper. Almost no hops were used in this beer, only a touch of Sterling, along with some herbs and spices including grains of paradise. Two different yeasts were used to produce a distinctly earthy, citrus and funk combo not found in the malts. The 15 IBU count is appropriately low.

4 oz pour on draft at Vanish, from GenDV138, thanks Donnie! Poured a pretty clear golden orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was herbal, juniper, bark, twigs, earth. Holly berries, medicinal, gin. Very odd, but expected.

4 oz pour on draft at Vanish. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of big pine needles and juniper, lots of herbs. Smells like an herb garden, juniper really comes through. Tastes of big herbs, light citrus. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
