Some Magic from Stu (Magic Rock UK) & some Tricks from Brouwerij de Molen. As you figured, a name for this beer wasn’t difficult to find. Stuart brought some Cryo hops with him for the brew. That was a first for us but certainly not a last. The use of these lupulin hop powders offers us possibilities to enhance hop flavor and aroma (even more), brew efficiency and sustainability. So we’re probably not done with cryo yet… Back to the beer: a hoppy, fruity imperial IPA with the Vermont yeast subtile in the aftertaste.

330 ml. bottle. I has been years since I bought a bottle of a De Molen beer but the name Magic Rock on it enticed me. Hazy orange, creamy off-white head. Nose is bitter USA hop pine resin, thick pine resin syrup with caramel, honey, boozy corn malt, syrupy, strong. Dry bitter, thick oily caramel, massive honey, thick honey, soft carbonation pine resin with alcoholic honey, caramel, cornflakes, pine, orange peel syrup. Taste pleasantly low boozy honey & caramel malt syrup mixed with pine resin. Old school, thick potent pleasantly boozy syrup, low bitter weeds in the finish. Tasty old school punt, lovely but nothing Vermont IPA about this just as was the case with the other De Molen Vermont IPA’s so far. The more you drink it, the more an orange peel liquer & pine resin sweetness becomes apparent balancing it, which I dig quite a bit, very nice.

Hazy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Thin malts bring a light creamy sweetness, Good hop spice and pine. Ripe citrus and tropical fruits. The hop spice starts to burn a little. Light crispy finish. Quite light on it's feet and it's mildly sweet but still delivers plenty of hop kick. Very nice.

Caña en Cimmeria 20..09..2017. (r40).

At a tasting, many thanks, smallish creamy head, cloudy apricot orange color, aroma of soap and herbs, some flowers in the back and maybe onion, fruity peach and herbal flavor, some onion behind, mellow sweetness, medium herbal bitterness. Very nice and highly enjoyable.

Dark coppery color, off-white head, good retention. Aroma has notes of resin hops with notes of tropical fruits. Flavor with a decent bitterness, tropical ints, light caramel, good maltiness. Bitterness in the final, cremay mouthfeel.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Nir A. for this bottle! Cloudy yellow. Somewhat stale fruity hops, sweetish, a bit of yeast, moderate bitterness, a bit "green", medium-bodied. Pretty nice, could be fresher.
