"Neuzeller Kloster-Bräu Schwarzer Abt", ein "Schwarzbier" mit Invertzuckersirup, Flasche von Edeka, Berlin, 4.7.2025. - Undurchsichtiges Schwarzbraun, reichlich dunkler Schaum.

Bottle at Torben Mathews tasting with IDA Trekantafdelingen. Pours clear reddish black with small offwhite head. Aroma is roasted malt, milk (lactose), caramel, bread, tea, and hints of dry tobacco. Taste is medium to very sweet, and light bitter. Body is oily with light carbonation´. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, roasted malt, sugar, lactose, tea, and hints of dry tobacco and dry campfire smoke.

Pours a very dark brown to black, medium sized, white head. Scent is roasty, dark bread, bit burnt even. Taste is surprisingly sweet, dark sugar, reminding of Belgian dark 'tablebeer' more than what I expect from a schwarzbier... Bit of a let down if i'm honest... way to sweet and not at all refined.

Bottle from a friend. Very sweet with an aroma of sugars, cola, syrup, some dark malt, caramel. Awfully sweet sugary flavour, weak watery body. This is like sugar malt water. Bad.
0,5 litre bottle, from a trade, shared with Bergstaden.
Almost black with beige head. Malts, hops, yeast, sugar, sweetness, some buttery taste.

Fles in Duitsland gekocht thuis geprobeerd.
