Bliss Quest is a best bitter — a classic English pub ale defined by the harmonious balance of malt, hop, and yeast.
While the inaugural iteration of this copper brew showcased American ingredients, batch two goes full British. Its grist is composed mostly of Simpsons’ Maris Otter, with support from their biscuit and crystal light malts and just the tiniest smidge of pale chocolate malt. Robust and fruity, Whitbread Golding hops brings classically UK notes of wood, herbs, and sweet berries to the beer.
Even with our tweaks, we think it’s still tasting markedly similar to last year’s Bliss Quest… which is great, because we loved that beer.
Our renditions of traditional English styles typically nod in some way to the English musical greats. In both name and label art, Bliss Quest pays homage to a more modern act — and one of Rich’s favorites — Oxford math rock trio TTNG.
Take your effective sedative sipped straight from this drink.

Raw barley and a little oak. Dark copper pour with good head and lacing. Bitter end. A little citrus. Tap at brewery.
