(Can, 0.35 l, at William K Kurvi, 20140311) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, herbalness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, herbalness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had grass, herbalness and bitterness. Quite nice and balanced.

0,35L can, BB 20.04.2014. Pours clear golden-amber with nice white head. The head stays for some moments. The aroma is rather weak sourness, pine, and fruits. Taste: is malt, caramel, sweet, pine, slightly metallic, and sour. Finish has some lingering grapefruit bitter kick and alcohol burn with some interesting sour notes. Overall: goes down rather well, but not really exciting.

7% Can on sale at Lawson’s 20 yen off so just 260 yen! A great deal for Japan. This beer has the classic clear copper-gold color I like in an IPA. Served in my Mikkeller 0.2L wine type glass. Nice solid hop bouquet that goes back & forth between tropical fruits & pine/resin notes-quite good. Full slick mouthfeel with a sharp bitter hop bite, slightly puckering in the mouth. My overall feel is kind of a bitter pith or rind kind of taste, citrusy pith lingers in the aftertaste. Pretty good.

12 oz. can from MaruMan supermarket, Nakano, Tokyo. Clear golden color. White head, not too much. Aroma’s: flowery hops, hints of citrus, hints of malt. Rertonasal the citrus is more pronounced and additionally there’s some hop bitterness. Flavor is quite bitter, but with some grain/malt for balance. Medium bodied. Finishes with a delicate flowery hop bitterness. Not extreme, but tasty and balanced.

At a tasting, thanks Tom, quite clear and deep orange colour, aroma of soy, misu cubes, nuts and maybe a hint of shitake, flavour of candy, nuts, oxidised notes amd a hint of soy, strange sourness, feels umami. Interesting and original but quite difficult to drink.

Can sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Naama. Clear golden. Malt, candies, fruitiness, citric and piney hops, a bit stale. Flavor has some malt sweetness, a bit of caramel and citric hops bitterness. Medium-bodied. Could be fresher, but still alright. Fresher than last time. 5/3/6/3/13=3
