Otter Bitter is our ‘session’ beer. A beer designed to slip down easily and refresh all parts of the body that need refreshing. High in taste and low in gravity makes Otter Bitter a long term friend.
Otter Bitter has great condition which adds to its flavour profile. Fruit notes and well balanced malty flavours are tinged with a hint of bitterness to make Otter Bitter a Devon beer of distinction.

[Cask at Mount Pleasant Inn, Dawlish Warren on 9/7/2009] Amber, slight white head. Very smooth indeed. A straw, earth and farmyard taste reminiscent of Wadworth’s beers will not be to everyone’s liking, but there’s no denying that this packs in a lot of flavour considering the low ABV. A good bitterness in the finish makes this a light yet tasty and refreshing session ale - it grew on me the more I had. 5/3/7/4/13. [Re-rate - cask at Merry Monk, Monkton Heathfield, nr Taunton on 11/2/2011] Amber, slight white head. Rich, sweet and fruity. Surprisingly different to previous sample, but still very flavoursome for ABV.

Cask-conditioned at Westbury-upon-Trym Conservative Club, Bristol (I was there as a guest!) A pleasant enough session bitter that contains some interest despite its low ABV. Of standard appearance but has aroma of hay with some supporting fruit. Flavour contains some hops with a good, dry aftertaste.

Cask@Akkurat, Stockholm. Honeyish golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is honey, wood and some caramel wood. A bit hayish too as it warms up. Flavour is dry hayish hops with wooden hints. Aftertaste is sour fruits and grass. Easy-to-drink and not too bad.

Cask at the Nags Head, Lyme Regis, Dorset, 13-11-06 Labelled as Otter Sark Lark but I understand that this is the standard bitter now a rebadge, note the pub used to have a beer called Sark Lark which was brewed by Dorset Brewey, Weymouth. Found this to be a good beer little bit nutty nice bitterness, tasty. [Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] A clear amber beer with a small light orange head. The aroma is very faint, what is there is bitter. The flavor is very fruity - especially peach, with slight notes of diacethyl and metal in the middle, leading to a bitter end.
