Our very first double bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout—and the oldest non-sour beer we've ever released—Frozen in Time has been "in stasis" since June 2019, long before we knew what 2020 would bring. It rested in Breckenridge bourbon barrels for 10 months before being transferred into different Breckenridge bourbon barrels for another 8 months. Reflecting the pitch-black darkness of the barrels from which it emerged, this beer emanates a jet-black color with dark brown head. Long awaited aromas of marzipan, cinnamon and dates waft alongside flavors of bourbon, chocolate, and coffee. A glimpse of yesteryear preserved in a bottle, this well-balanced beer exposes a depth of character that only time—and the finest bourbon barrels—can illuminate.
