Bottle at home picked up from Tesco. As "Guinness Antwerpen". Surprised i hadn’t ticked this before. A dark caramel brown coloured pour with a rocky mid tan head that fades. Aroma holds some sweet malt loaf, blackberry, jam, vanilla. Little meaty on the nose. Flavour is composed of sweet tangy brown malts, brown sugars liquorice and treacle, apple and dark berries, earth. Palate is medium bodied, frothy carbonation medium sweet with a tang in the finish. Archetypal for the style.

Bottle at home, 29th April 17. Pours black, white head. Aroma is liquorice, sharp, vineous, dark chocolate. Taste is liquorice, roasted malts, dark chocolate. Liked it

Bottle (as ’Antwerpen Stout ’) from Tescos. Black pour with a lasting beige head. Raisin, coffee, dark chocolate and light smoke aroma. Vanilla, toffee, caramel and coffee flavour. Not bad.

Black body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Dense aroma of dried fruits, caramel, chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla, some coffee, some toast.
Tastes quite similar, but sweeter and a bit less rich than the nose
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes quite cloying, moderate roasty, slightly dry, a bit toasty, with brown sugar, molasses, cocoa.
Nice one. The nose is really lovely, with diverse fruit and dark malt notes, has some Belgian twist. The taste is too sweet though for my taste, even getting a bit dull towards the finish. Overall still quaffable stuff, but I was expecting a bit more, not as good as their lovely Foreign Extra Stout in my opinion.

Bottle from Tesco, Cromwell Road, Earls Court, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top which doesn’t hang around for long. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, some dark fruit, pretty sweet mind you. Pretty good stout but one bottle was quite enough.

Bottle. Nose is hazelnut syrup, latte, cream, coffee, chocolate. Nice. Taste is sweet, cheap chocolate, hazelnut, marshmallow, little coffee. Mouthfeel is sticky.

Bottle. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of butter, roasted malts, cake, cookies and butterscotch. Taste of chocolate, malts, cookies, caramel, coffee, liquorice, herbal hops and alcohol. Dry finish with a distinctive roasty bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Nice mouthfeel. It’s all there but I don’t particularly enjoy it. I guess this is one those beers I just don’t get.

Bottle during OT’ers of the year tasting session beer bottle via Tesco and Sarkynorthener cheers Martin; dark brown with a thin tan head, aroma has dark malts and chocolate, taste has sweet chocolate, along with some roast, hint of dark fruits.
