From Away IPA is a New England style IPA. What this means is that while it is bitter, most of the hops are pushed to the flavor and aroma additions instead on the bittering additions. Also, due mainly to the yeast strain, the beer remains much cloudier than the typical ipa. We used a blend of Nugget, Chinook, Wakatu, and Southern Cross hops both in the boil and in dry hopping this beer. The result is a flavor profile that includes peach, pine, and tropical fruit with floral and citrus undertones. Nugget and Chinook hops are American varieties and Wakatu and Southern Cross both hail from New Zealand. The grains include a high quality pilsner malt, a South American crystal malt, and Belgian biscuit malt to provide a solid foundation to the generous amount of hops.
