Pours red to brown. Smallbut lasting head. Earthy soil aroma. Similar taste. Thin mouthfeel. Mild sweetness. Spicy finish.

Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is spicy, herbal (I guess those are different categories), somewhat woody, and some grape must. Taste at first hit me more like that of a dark beer and then after more sips it became smoother and accentuated its herbal side more. There really isn’t much funk going on in here. To my mind, this shares its dryness the most with the saison style.

Draft @ Get Real NY Belgian fest. Pours a light hazy mahogany. Taste is spiced bread, slight barnyard, tart fruits, some earth, and a hint of caramel sweetness to finish it off.
