The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma is rum, but under that is a nice schwarzbier with some roasty malts, lager smell, and hints of chocolate. Taste is mildly sweet. A wee bit roasty, with the rum going into force only to the extent it really should. Certainly a barrel-aged beer first and foremost. Interesting to see them do it with this style.
