Since 2017, we’ve released “My Old Friend,” our annual Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout collab with McClintock Distilling in Frederick, MD. After releasing the companion Whiskey earlier in this year, we partnered with McClintock again to bring you a one-of-a-kind brew. “My Oldest Friend” is the same Imperial Stout, but now aged for 8 months in the exact McClintock Whiskey barrel that once held My Old Friend Whiskey. Barrel & liquid coming full circle, inception-style, resulting in a unique beer 5 years in the making. Sweet aromas of caramel and toffee followed milk chocolate. Wood characters (vanilla, oak, toast) and a hint of booze from the whiskey complete this viscous full bodied cold weather companion.
